What are badges in NBA 2K21?

These are simply a type of interesting tool with which we get in this game and it allows us to help our teammates to opt for the extra advantage, as this allows us to have the necessary reinforcements to win a game.

How to add badges to MyTeam cards in NBA 2K21?

Adding badges to your cards can help give your players that extra edge, but how do you add these items in MyTeam? Let's go over the steps.

First off, log into your MyTeam and select Lineups Management. Select the active lineup, and then hit A on Xbox/X on PlayStation on the player you want to apply a badge too. Once you do this, you will see a list of badges that can be added to your player. On this screen, you will get a look at what badges are currently on your player, as well as those that are not. Badges that have a bronze, silver, gold, or purple image next to the name means that a badge is already on it. That color indicates the badge class that is currently equipped. Players can be given either a Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Hall of Fame (purple color) badge, with the Hall of Fame badge being the best.

If a badge is highlighted in green, this means that you can upgrade this badge with a card in your collection.

If you want to upgrade this highlighted badge, just select A/X and you will be able to do so. Keep in mind though that once you equip a badge to a player, you will not be able to take off that badge and use it on another player. If you want to equip a different player with that same badge, you will need to pick up a new badge. Badges can be found in packs or at the Auction House.

How to change badges after assigning them?

Maybe you assigned the wrong badge to your MyPlayer. But when you go to your Badge Upgrades page, there doesn't seem to be a way to switch things around. Don't fret: There actually is a way to switch your badge to a different badge in the same category, if you're having buyer's regret.

First, you have to earn another badge in the same category as the one you want to switch. The four categories are Finishing, Shooting, Playmaking, and Defense / Rebounding. In the screenshot below, I've earned another badge in Defense / Rebounding, but I still have to assign it.

When you're in this "assigning" phase, you can actually switch around and re-assign any of the badges you've earned in that specific category, not just the new badge you've earned. So in the screenshot above, I've selected my gold Pickpocket badge. I can press R2 to upgrade this badge to Hall of Fame level. Or, I can press L2 to downgrade this gold badge to silver or bronze or take it away entirely, as I've done in the screenshot below.

I can then take these upgrades and assign them to completely new Defense / Rebounding badges, either by spreading them out or focusing on a single new one.

This only works if you have a new upgrade to apply. So if you want to switch around a Shooting badge? You have to earn another Shooting Upgrade before you can start mixing things around.

Last note: if you manage to earn all available badges in a single category, you can switch things around whenever you want, not just during the aforementioned "assigning phase."

Remember that in addition to playing lots of games, you can also go practice drills to grind toward badges. It's boring, but it works. In addition, to see more badges guide, please click here.
