The first overall ratings for NBA 2K21 are already out there, but a lot of people aren't pleased with the rating they gave their favorite players. Here, we've put together the top 10 most disrespectful overall ratings in NBA 2K21.
1. Trae Young – 88
This shouldn't come as a surprise for him as Trae Young has been used to being overlooked and underrated for years. However, that doesn't mean it's right. Trae Young is only 21 years of age and he leads all point guards in points per game with 29.6. The Atlanta Hawks are a very sub-par team and it is obvious that they are rebuilding. Young is the glue that will hold the Hawks together for the years to come. He's a cornerstone player that Hawks will mold their team around. He should have a rating of 92 or 93 and he'll definitely have it by the end of the season.
2. Paul George – 88
It's been a tough couple of months for Los Angeles Clippers' star Paul George. George struggled with his shot and with foul trouble in the bubble in Orlando. Now, his downfall has even reached NBA 2K, as the game's developers gave him a rating of just 88, which seems incredibly low considering he was an MVP candidate just two seasons ago. We're talking about a two-way stud that can put up 25/7 on one end and play lockdown defense on the other any given night. George has vowed to take that number up throughout the season all the way to 95 or 96, and while that may look like a bit of a stretch, he should at least have a rating of 92-93.
3. Devin Booker – 88
The NBA bubble in Orlando has seen a few players truly stand out and make a name for themselves. One such player was Devin Booker. Though Suns fans already appreciated just how good he was, it took the shooting guard carrying the team to an unmatched 8-0 record in the bubble for the rest of the league to take notice. From game winners over Kawhi Leonard to hitting 3 pointers from the logo for fun, Devin Booker made the league sit up and take notice. His three-point shooting, passing, and finishing at the rim have elevated him to an elite talent in the NBA. There's no way he's just an 88. He should be ranked 90 after putting on a show in the bubble.
4. Bradley Beal – 88
The Bradley Beal disrespect is just getting out of hand right now. The guy just averaged 30 points per game in an efficient fashion for a full season and he didn't make an All-Star team, an All-NBA team, and only has a rating of 88 in NBA 2K21. With an injured John Wall, Bradley Beal has stepped up massively for the Washington Wizards in the 2019-20 NBA season. Beal finished the year second in points per game and has also stepped up as a leader and distributor. He should be a 90 or 91, that's for sure.
5. Kemba Walker – 86
I simply can't understand how Kemba Walker has a rating of just 86. Kyrie Irving's departure from the Celtic's was somewhat inevitable following a disastrous 18/19 campaign. It was Kemba Walker who was tasked with replacing him. The former Hornets star has performed well with Boston, though nagging injuries have prevented him from staying consistent. He should be an 88 or 89, at worst.
6. Ja Morant – 85
The second overall pick in the NBA Draft, Ja Morant has a good chance of becoming Rookie of the Year — possibly even just the fourth player over the last 30 years to be unanimously voted for it. Morant has been a walking highlight reel for the NBA and he's one of the most fun and energetic athletes to watch play. In 59 games last season, Morant has averaged 17.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game. As far as young talent goes, Morant is likely to be one of the game's brightest stars for years to come. Yet, Morant is also below his friend and fellow rookie Zion Williamson, the guy he beat for Rookie of the Year. Staying healthy is also a part of the job and Morant showed glimpses of greatness during his rookie season and should be ranked 88.
7. Blake Griffin – 83
Blake Griffin is a solid playmaker, versatile scorer, and one of the best power forwards in the league. He enjoyed his finest point-scoring season to date for the Pistons last season, averaging 24.5 points per game on a 46.2 FG%. His knee injury late in the season meant Griffin missed four of the final seven games of the regular season as the Pistons narrowly missed out on a playoff spot. He's not getting the respect he deserves anymore. He's got a lesser rating than Zion Williamson, who didn't even play 35 games this year. He should be an 86 or 87.
8. Kevin Love – 82
It has been tough times for the Cav's of late and whilst preseason odds suggested they would be lingering around the bottom of the Eastern standings, they currently sit middle of the pack with a .400 PCT after the opening five. That is down largely to the work and in particular the defensive work, of Kevin Love. Love leads the NBA in defensive rebounds with a whopping 16.2 defensive rebounds per game average so far this campaign. 17.2 points and 4.8 assists show that the 31-year-old isn't too shoddy on the opposite end of the court either. He shouldn't have a lesser rating than Whiteside, Nurkic, Ayton, Aldridge, or Brook Lopez. He should be at least an 87.
9. Mitchell Robinson – 81
Mitchell Robinson just doesn't get any love, it seems. I get it, the New York Knicks are far from a contending team, but there's just no way that Robinson, one of the league's most efficient big men, has a rating of 81 despite posting similar – or best – numbers than others that are far ahead of him. Robinson is three points below Jusuf Nurkic, who's better than him but barely played. He's also below Hassan Whiteside, who's not a plus defender and lost his starting job, and even below Clint Capela, who didn't play much and got traded midseason. He deserves a rating of 85.
10. Draymond Green – 79
Draymond Green isn't the flashiest player for the Golden State Warriors but there's just no way he's a 79, even if he struggled most of the season and missed a lot of time with injuries, we're talking about a 3-time NBA Champion and one of the best, most versatile defenders in the league. He was never a big scorer or flashy player, but he was an elite defender, playmaker, and would hit some shots when he was open. He should be, at worst, an 86.
